What do you call a man with five children by three different women, none of whom he's married?

Answer: the Mayor of London.

For a moment there, you could be forgiven for thinking we were back on Shannon Matthews's council estate in Dewsbury, where the poor girl's mother has seven children by five fathers and an extended family that would fill Wembley Stadium.

Shannon's clan is rightly regarded as feckless and dysfunctional.
Yet Ken Livingstone would have us believe his family arrangements are as normal as the Brady Bunch.
He insists he's an "involved" father.

As a Brit, but not a teacher, I would say an "lnvolved father" was one who took an active part in his children's activities, schooling, recreation activities, sports etc, rather than leaving the upbringing of his children to his wife.
