I miss you so much. Sinse "miss" is defined as "feel regret at the present of", how can one say "I miss you so much." face to face to another?

Teacher If you're with the person, it might be better to say 'I've missed\I missed you so much.' However, if they are frequently away, then the present simple could be used.
