Prepositional phrases
1. She was in the garden.
2. She was in a green suit.
In sentence #1, the prepositional phrase is adverbial. In #2, I'm not so sure. Is the prepositional phrase in #2 functioning as an adjective by modifying the subject "she"? Can a prepositional phrase following a "to be" or a "linking" verb describe the subject of the sentence?
Thank you.
