Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether there is some difference between the terms "sprained ankle" and " strained ankle"?
Thank you in advance for your efforts.
Regards.

Howdy, Vil.
To me, strain is reserved more for muscles, ligaments while sprain is for joints. Medically speaking, I'm not even sure what a sprained ankle is, though personally speaking I sure do know. It's one major painful experience!
There's a saying, "Don't strain your brain", used when you figure that the result ain't worth the effort, [not in this case, of course] or you're being factitious because someone isn't trying, mentally, at all.
Hi Riverkind,
I agree with your Solomon’s manner of reasoning.
Thank you for your substantial differentiation regarding the different objects of spraining respectively straining, namely muscels, ligaments and joints.
Thank you for your backing.
Regards.
