is the sentence grammatically correct? Hello everyone
I'd like to ask if the following sentence is written correctly: Compared to the previous single educational standard, in the block of humanities and social-economic disciplines 5 disciplines have been singled out as obligatory to be studied by students of all universities. The part I'm not sure of most is "have been singled out as obligatory to be studied." The intended meaning is as follows: 5 disciplines have been singled out as obligatory and students should study them. And which word is more appropriate in this sentence -- single or uniform, i.e. single educational standard or uniform educational standard?
