    Default grammar

    Would it be correct to use ‘are’ instead of ‘being’ in this sentence? If not, would you please give me the grammatical explanation for it? Thanks.

    Scientific study of the origin and functioning of human cultures, ethnology, is one of the major branches of cultural anthropology, the other two being anthropological linguistics and anthropological archelogy
