| | "as concerns..." Is it right to begin a sentence with this ?
"As concerns the second aspect,...."
or should I just say
"AS for the second aspect,..."
the meaning is that I'm introducing how I dealt with the second aspect.
One more thing: how should I say that there is a file enclosed in a mail?
"Please, find enclosed : 1) 2) 3)" or "Enclosed please find: 1) 2 ) 3 )".... the thing should be rather formal
bye
Pat

| | Re: "as concerns..." Concerning the (second aspect)
With regard to the (second aspect)
Be careful about the 'as for the' construction. It is most often used when you are about to refute or dismiss some claim or contention.
"As for the claims that these military plans are driven by genuine concern over the threat of terrorist attacks, these are belied by the actual conduct of the American ruling elite since 9/11."
"As for the IOC, it failed to withdraw its approval even when told the tour would climax in the former Tibetan capital of Lhasa. ..." | | The Following User Says Thank You to David L. For This Useful Post:

| | Re: "as concerns..." No, it does not in itself imply dismissal, but is used to introduce a dismissive statement. It should not be used to introduce some 'second aspect' .
I am a little rusty. As I recall, after your typed signature at the bottom of the letter, it should look like
Yours sincerely
(your signature)
John Smith
encl: 3
This would indicate that three other pages had also been enclosed with the letter. If they are specific, named documents, it is not necessary to actually name them.
If you wanted to mention in the body of the letter that you were going to enclose some documents, then say so in normal language e.g.
"I will (also) enclose copies of these documents for your information." | | The Following User Says Thank You to David L. For This Useful Post:

| | Re: "as concerns..." Then write :
Enclosed please find 1,2,3
Is this within the letter, or at the end? | | The Following User Says Thank You to David L. For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
