Homophones and Homonyms
Hello.I am a teacher, and as I was teaching my student we,encountered these words with the same sound and same spelling but with different spelling. So I said to my student that it is homophones. But now I wonder, what about Homonyms. How would I differentiate homophones from homonyms?

Homonyms are words which have the same spelling and pronunciation as each other but different meanings and origins. Homophones are words which have the same pronunciation as each other but different spellings and meanings. Homographs are words which are spelt the same as each other but which have a different pronunciation and meaning. Hope this helps! Dawood
