I found on the interent that American, British and Canadian English sometimes use or do not use the definite article before "institute", for example (the) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the Fraser Institute.
Our honourable teachers, do you have any comments on this, please? Thank you.
Only include 'the' if the institute, college, school or university includes it as part of the official name. So -
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 110 Eighth Street, Troy, NY, 518-276-6000
- they do not have 'the' as part of their official name.
