cenerentola is an unknown quantity at this point
Default a party

hello there,
could anyone tell me if the following sentence is correct?
" three steps to having a marvellous birthday party:....."(followed by some advice. What I'm not sure about is the gerund "having". Would it be better to use the infinitive?
Thank you very much for your answer

Default Re: a party

Your sentence is perfectly ok. 'to' acts as a preposition in your sentence, and thus, takes a verbal noun (gerund).

Three steps to having a marvellous birthday party: .....
