with a fan
The following is a description of the movie Tommy Boy.
Davis Spade's use of sarcasm in this movie is funny. It's used as a cover for his anger. Also, Tommy Boy (played by the late Chris Farley) provides comic relief in many scenes including one with a fan where he is saying "Luke, I am your father."
In the above, does the "fan" refer to "the thing that you wave with your hand which makes the air cooler," or some other thing?
Thank you.

Re: with a fan
Hi unpakwon
The actor is sitting in front of a fan saying "Luke I am your Father" to imitate Darth Vader's voice (from the movie Star Wars).
[Tommy Boy just gets his new office and starts talking into a fan]
Tommy: Luke, I am your fa-ther.

Re: with a fan
I see.
Then, the fan here seems to refer to the machine that makes the air cooler.
Thank you for the answer and material.

Thanks.
. I'd never have guessed. For some reason I was trying to fit one of the old-style manual fans (the sort that Eliza Doolittle has to use - http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:..._lovebound.jpg) into the image, and it just didn't work.
