High heeled shoe - a shoe with a heel that is anywhere between an inch and eight inches high [2.5 - 20 cms] http://tinyurl.com/3h6eua

Platform shoe - a shoe with a deep sole, sometime with a high heel as well. http://tinyurl.com/53qz8k

Pumps - A low cut shoe [at the front]. http://tinyurl.com/3oebgc
Often used to refer to flat shoes, with little or no heel. http://tinyurl.com/3zmmpm
