get coverage
Could you explain the following in bold in easy English?
1. Expectations for team leads: Show up on time for meetings. / Lead by example. / Log and work the team issues; escalate as appropriate. / Get coverage when you will not be at work & notify stakeholders.
2. Here are some additional standards to consider: status reporting deadlines / weekend work / time reporting standards.
Thank you.

#1 seems to be missing something: "log and work on the team issues" would make better sense, meaning keep a running record of team issues and work on resolving them.
#2 "escalate" is a jargon use meaning to make the issues more important if necessary
#3 "Get coverage" = make sure someone is doing your work if you are not there to do it.
2. Here are some additional standards to consider: status reporting deadlines / weekend work / time reporting standards.
"Time reporting standards" = the standards laid down for people to report on how they used their working time in order to carry out their work.
Thank you.
