Inauspicious and boding ill both carry the sense of "showing signs that something will not succeed".

Ill-fated means that something is unlikely to succeed.

Ominous suggests that something unpleasant is about to happen

Unfortunate means having bad fortune, to be unlucky OR that something is regrettable or not appropriate.

"Numerous occasions" = Many; consisting of great numbers of units
