informal letter
whose address do we have to write in the beginning of the letter?

For an informal letter (like a thank you note, etc.) you don't put any addresses, you just start with "Dear So-and-so,"
For a formal letter, the recipient's address is immediately above the the greeting (or the "Subject" or "In re:" line if there is one).
