sound changing and extra lettering

Hi everyone, I've got some questions here. If you can help me, I'll really appreciate it.

I'm confused with sound changing rule and extra lettering rule. I don't know when a sound chaning happens and why.It's the same with extra lettering.Could you give me some examples?
