    Default intoxicate

After having a stodgy breakfast, I fell asleep.
Does a heavy breakfast or a lavish, stodgy meal intoxicate one?
What do we call such a process whereby one gets asleep or weary or intoxicated after a heavy dose of food?

It is a process of your blood being directed to your stomach for the digestion resulting in decrease in blood supply to brain. That makes you seepy. What's more, your body uses double energy to brak down the food you have eaten and you feel tired.

Does n't it have a distinct name or a set phrase for the way we feel tired and sleepy?

    I do not think so.
"Food makes/made me sleepy" works here.
