which preposition to use
I have studied in grammer books and till now frame sentences like this
1. I work at (some x company) in (some x place).
My friend says
2. I work in (some x company) in (some x place).
I want to know whether his usage is correct.

Hello, I would say, in British English:
I work for (name of company) in China.
Or:
I work in teaching for (name of company) in China.
Maybe our American friends can help.

Re: which preposition to use
Thank you sir. I referred this to my friend. He said that the usage of in comes according to the context.
His argument is
I work in (some x place) (which is) in (some y place).
He says 'which is' is implied and there is no need to mention about it.

My normal expectation would be:
I work for xxxx company in London [employed by them in a permanent capacity]
I work with xxxx company in Bangkok [not necessarily employed by the company, but working in association with it]
You might also phrase it
I am working in/for/with xxx company for the next six months [temporary employment]
