Can you explain its meaning ?

What is a "moral death" and why would it occur if labour was abolished?

I think it means that if men do not have honest work to do, then morality will disappear, which will lead to the demise of man's humanity.

Grammatically speaking, the sentence is correct.

This is called "If Omission"

Were labour abolished, the race of Adam would be put to moral death.

the actual sentence is

If the labour were abolished, the race of Adam would be put to moral death.
