    Is "leave everything as it was" an idiom?
    "...the idea ...would cancel all the way through and Leave everything as it was."

    It is idiomatic, but not an idiom in itself.

    There's a good link in the Language Reference section that takes you to an alpha betical listing of 'idioms' per se. To be idiomatic, I think, implies that you are using a formulaic expression (one that you may have heard before: in this case 'leave everything as it was').
