Cool do the bridge?

Hi,

Imagine today is Thursday and it's holiday. So, I'm only going back to work next Monday. In French, we say 'faire le pont' (= do the bridge). Do you have a similar term in English?

Nope.

British bank holidays (public holidays) fall on Fridays or Mondays (with the possible exception of New Years Day, Christmas Day and perhaps Boxing Day. We might 'take a long weekend' if the opportunity presents itself.
