Hello amigos!

Henry exchanged/swapped/traded/switched Arsenal to/for Barça.

Which one is the most correct?

Thanks,

Sam

Exchanged. Or switched from Arsenal to Barca.

Why can´t swapped and traded used in this case?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi

It depends on what you are talking about - i.e. whether the person concerned:
a) used to support Arsenal and now supports Barça i.e. was swapping allegiances or
b) was merely swapping "cigarette cards" of Arsenal for Barça.

Please advise

Regards
NT

Swapped is not generally associated with people but it could apply to their jobs! And the same applies to traded where people will trade something (cars, beans, appliances etc) but not people - except in the history of slave traders and then people were not considered as people but objects.

exchanged/swapped/traded/switched
Have you looked at all the definitions in your English dictionary? If not, then do so and come back for further explanations.
