Default Difference between "to run a lot" and 'to run very much"

Is there any difference between "to run a lot" and "to run very much"? What are their usages?

thank you!

"Very much" is mostly used with feeling verbs. It sounds strange when used with an action verb. Run is an action verb. "A lot" is used with action and feeling verbs.
