Default Far from downtown/far downtown

Is it correct to say "far from downtown" as well as "far downtown"
I found both uses at Google:

far from > How far is Jade Azul from downtown Nosara?
far > Three crowns hotel stylish not so far downtown, near sports area Ještěd and ...

Are both of them correct?

thank you very much

Default Re: Far from downtown/far downtown

The first means distant from downtown; the second means right in the downtown area.
