As I found out the verb 'to surge' means to move suddenly forward. Now I ask myself if I can also use this verb in a fictional meaning. For example can I substitute this verb for 'to advance'![]()
e.g. "I advanced greatly in my skills." -> "I surged greatly in my skills."
Thanks in advance.
In my opinion it does not work well in that context. I think "surge" is better used describing something physical.Originally Posted by sebastian__rs

There can be surges in moods and things, but I wouldn't use it for 'skills'. You could make a leap forwards, though.![]()
Thanks very much :D
