Default meaning

Hi,

could you please tell me what does "distributed as such" mean in the following text:

Payment Schedule:
Paid quarterly: as a total of USD 500 per patient distributed as such
100 USD for entire completion of basic form
400 USD for all treatment forms

Thanks a lot!

Hanka

Default Re: meaning

The two most likely grammatical interpretations are;
  • distributed on a real 'per patient' basis (that is 50 times the per-patient payment for a hospital with 50 patients, rather than - say - 1000 times that payment for a district)
or
  • distributed in dollars rather than in local currency

But I'm afraid what the writer really means is 'distributed as follows:' or 'distributed in this way:'; it's an abuse of 'as such', but bad things happen!
