Default correct the following sentence

Hi All,

Please let me know, whats wrong with the following sentence?

"Rain is falling heavily"

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
There is nothing wrong with it at all (it's quite poetic) but it is not what most people would say, more usual would be "It is raining heavily"

Rain is falling heavily

You may hear or read this, as in "Rain is falling heavily in upland areas, whereas on the plains...."
However, 'heavily' is an adverb qualifying 'falling' - it could suggest (to take it to the extreme) that just a few drops of rain might have fallen...but boy, did they fall with a heavy thump!
What is really meant is that "Heavy(=dense) rain is falling in upland areas..."
