School System

Hello!
I would please love to know what the school system in the UK is, being that my whole life I've been taught the American one:
Elementary School = Primary School
Junior high School = Secondary School
High School = Preparatory School??

Because I think prepschool is before the primary school, but then how do I call the one to which I entered at age 14? --or 15, as most people--
Being that the British names are more like my mother tongue names, I have learnt them easily. So, those who live in the UK or those who know the answer, thank you very much!! :wink:

Where there are Middle Schools, students then join a Secondary Schhool, though at a later age than areas without Middle Schools.

Ohh... so there's Primary School, of how many years, and middle schoo, of how many years, before secondary school? Or before preparatory?
