1) See here

2) 'as much as' is similar to 'although'; 'whereas' means:
  1. It being the fact that; inasmuch as.
  2. While at the same time.
  3. While on the contrary.
'inasmuch' means, seeing that; since; to such a degree as

But I have seen have sb do sth, too
Whereas, means inasmuch, but how about the other? it does mean "although", we cannot say the meaning of a word if we don't put it in the right context. True thing happen to apart from, it has two opposite meaning, so I think the same happen here in whereas.
Could you please go over it with more details?

There is a significant difference between the two. To have somebody do something is to get that person to do that thing.
I won't have them play soccer near my rose beds = I won't get them to play soccer near my rose beds

I won't have them playing soccer near my rose beds = I won't put up with them playing soccer near my rose beds
In the first sentence she is saying she is not going to get them to do it. In the second sentence she is saying she is not going to let them do it.

I recommend that you not use "whereas" except in legal documents. It is not a word people use in ordinary conversation.
