Default Adjective sequence?

Hello Everyone,

If a noun is defined by several adjectives, how should we arrange them? Is there any rules here?

Could you please explain to us with the following case?

For example, if there are four vocabularies as world-renowned, ancient, Chinese and Architect?

They should be arranged as world-renowned Chinese ancient architect. I would like to know its English equivalent or is it felexible here? and we can arrange them according to what we wish to emphasize here? like Chinese ancient world -renowned architect or ancient Chinese world-renowned architect?

Regards

Sky

Exclamation Re: Adjective sequence?

You sould try as suggested by Soup. You can probably use at the most 3 adjectives to describe a noun. The following is a sequence of placing the adjectives before the noun.
  • Material or Origin or purpose should be 1st adjective before the noun
  • Age or shape or color should be before the 1st adjective
  • Opinion or dimension should be before the 2nd adjective
Applying the above you have to use three adjective and instead of the fourth adjective Architect you can use its noun equivalent ‘Architecture’, so that your purpose is served and you say - world-renowned ancient Chinese Architecture (No comas after the adjectives)
