    Default year 2008

    Hi!
Could you please tell me how to read the year 2008: "two thousand eight" or "two thousand and eight"? Or both are correct?
    Thank you in advance.

    Two thousand and eight

I am hearing twenty oh eight fairly often now.

In my opinion, it should read: 'two thousand and eight'; you definitely need the 'and'. You could also say 'twenty oh eight'

    SB and Anglika,

'Two thousand and eight' works for me...but 'twenty oh eight' makes me shudder!
Since when did 'oh' become a numeral? I've spent a lifetime teaching students that there is a difference between saying 'zero' and saying 'oh'!

I will stay with 'two thousand and eight'!

    Cheers,

It is a common usage. I have heard it most of my life in colloquial situations.
