Hi! Could you please interpret 'character' refer to? There're 18 entries for this word in The American HeritageŽ Dictionary.
I am kind of getting lost.

I think "Moral or ethical strength" is fine.
Also, Moral quality; the principles and motives that control the life; as, a man of character; his character saves him from suspicion.
