Default ABC and Writting books for Chinese children ? ?

Hello great and marvellous ESL Teacher!

I have developed a set of books for teaching ESL children how to write the English alphabet in both upper and lower case then create cartoons for each letter.

I have a large publisher interested in the project but need to provide information on books that would be competition. I'm not sure typical ABC books are competition, maybe letter writing books would be?...although these books cover those elements as well as a creative aspect to engage the children further.

Can someone tell me what would be the most popular books ( top selling ) used for ESL children for learning ABC and learning to write English letters in China ?

Also any thoughts on how you as an ESL teacher might use such books in the class with ESL children ages 6 to 12.

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated
Thank you

In the school system, as with conversational schools, it is generally the case that Chinese nationals teach writing; e.g., the alphabet, and they use a government/company issued text. Company texts tend to be either a compilation of borrowed material from other texts or books designed by in-house staff. Note that, native speakers who teach English in China are for the most part regulated to teaching oral English only. If by chance they get to teach writing the ABCs, my experience has been that they get the stuff they need off the Net--it is convenient and free.

Wayne, learning how to write the alphabet is taught in grades 1 and 2.
