punctuation question
I'm writing my research paper and I need to figure out if I need a comma for the following sentence or not:
She sacrifices herself allowing the men to hit her.
Would I need a comma after herself or not?
Thanks so much!

Would I need a comma after herself, or not? Yes you do, in both sentences.
Thanks so much!

She sacrifices herself allowing the men to hit her.
Would I need a comma after herself or not?
I thought the sentences are fine without commas.
However, I'd prefer:
She sacrifices herself by allowing the men to hit her.
