    Default on the trains / on the train / on trains / on train / by train

    Hello.

    What is the difference in meaning between these sentences?

    - We were going to be allowed to travel on the trains / on the train.
    - We were going to be allowed to travel on trains / on train.

    -We were going to be allowed to travel by train.

    Do you have any context for any of them? ("We were going to be allowed to travel by train" is the most likely.)
