    Default others' vs. others's

    Hello,
    I wonder which is correct.

Ex. Recognizing others' attitudes is difficult.

What if you say 'other people's attitudes'?

I would rather write what you have suggested instead of spending time wondering which one is correct. But sometimes I encounter that possessive form in other people's writings, and each time I can't help pausing for a moment thinking which one is correct.

As far as I know, there's no such word "attitudes"

Why don't you try: "Recognizing other people's attitude is rather difficult."

    others'
    others's

    From 3.7 - Apostrophe
In phrases using the pronoun "other," form the possessive by following the general rule for nouns. Form the singular possessive with apostrophe s and the plural with an apostrophe

    Examples:
each other's letters one another's houses
the others' reports [the reports of the others]
    Clark and forinfo like this.
