    Default Studies and Studying

May I ask what is the differences between "studies" and "studying".
In the following sentence, what is the more preferable?

"To prepare for their further studies/studying in future, we hope that students can acquire the necessary knowledge and think in different perspectives."

    Thank for advice.

Try the collocation future studies. By the way, the sentence you provided doesn't really work. Try rewording it.
