The shopkeeper has got a lot of cheese. 6.) I can see a lot of newspapers. 7.) But I can't see many bread. 8.) There isn't many yoghurt. 9.) The shop hasn't got many birthday cards. 10.) Thanks for your corrections :D I have some questions now. to 4.) I don't think, that sweets are countable, are they? to 7.) I think that bread is a countable noun, isn't it? (There is one bread or there are two breads and so on) to 12.) Tdol have said, that "a lot of" can be used by uncountable nouns or by countable nouns if they are plural. Rice isn't countable and it isn't a plural in my oppinion. Why have you used [/b]a lot of in this sentence :? Kind regards, Dany |

| to 4.) I don't think, that sweets are countable, are they? No, here "sweet" = "candy" => countable to 7.) I think that bread is a countable noun, isn't it? (There is one bread or there are two breads and so on) No, we say a loaf of bread => some bread. to 12.) Tdol have said, that "a lot of" can be used by uncountable nouns or by countable nouns if they are plural. Rice isn't countable and it isn't a plural in my oppinion. Why have you used [/b]a lot of in this sentence Confused There is not much rice <> there is a lot of rice. FRC |
