Can someone help me with the post above too? Thanks. Are these correct? What do they mean? 1. I thought that is what most people have. (If this is incorrect, why?) 2. I thought that was what most people have. 3. I thoughtthat is what they do best. 4. I thought that was what they do best.

Could someone help me with the post above? Thanks. 1. I thought you don’t have to eat the apple. (Is this incorrect? 'Don't' should be 'didn't'? Is it because 'thought' is in past tense and 'don't' is in present? Which means you can't think about something in the past and say it is right now?)

1. I thought that is what they do best. (How come this is correct?) And this is not correct? 2. I thought you care about her. What do these mean: 3. I thought that is what they do best. 4. I thought that was what they do best.
