Does one fight sleep or sleepiness? or... drowsiness?
How would you qualify the head movements of someone just on the verge of falling asleep while seated. Could one's head fall and jerk back? Is one's head doddling (I can't find this in the dictionary and very few occurences on the web)?

Either is fine - they are pretty much synonymous.
