I think 'connection' here means the point of application of load( in the form of force/vibration/impact, etc) to the door to be tested.

Building products are normally subjected to simulated tests in the lab whereby lab equipments are used to simulate normal conditions of wear & tear, impact, loadings which are continuously applied to a sample to be tested.

continuous - non-stop, sustained(over a period of time, the proper term is 'accelerated test' I think)
