Hi there.
Sorry about the seemingly infinite amount of questions about Mark Twains writings.
My two questions are related to the story:
The Canvasser's Tale, a short story by Mark Twain
Can anyone please give me a sensible meaning of the "great pitt?" the only thing that comes to mind is Pittsburgh.
And please explain the meaning of the underlined, because it really makes no sense whatsoever to me:
"And at last that other collector, with a malignity which only a collector can ever feel toward a man and a brother, proceeded to cut down his hill!"
Thank you so much.
