What is "here's how the retailer is throwing its weight around"? In the article of "Wal-mart Puts the Squeeze on Food Costs", the writer said "Here's how the retailer is throwing its weights around. 1 Shrink the goods. 2 Cut out the middleman. 3 Go locovore". Is "throwing its weights around" here means "cutting its cost"?

Wal-mart, by virtue of its size(weight), is able to buy goods in big volume thus doing away with the middleman, thereby cutting costs.
