how is...coming?
From<growing pains>s710,Maggie asks jason "how are the gutters coming" i think she should say how are the gutters thing going,am i right? thanks.

If somebody is doing a task, and another asks how they are going with it, they will say:
"How's the jumper coming?" - referring to knitting a jumper.
The person might reply:
"Oh, it's coming along."
or the person could have asked:
"How's the homework coming along? Much more to do?"

'Go' indicates a movement from smth, 'come' - a movement towards smth. Here 'coming' means a movement towards the completion of the work.

So... "How is it going?" and "How is it coming?" are both correct with some difference in meaning?

I think so. 'Going' suggests that you look at the action from the perspective of the starting point of an action, 'coming' from the perspective of its aim.
