Hello again,

Can a legend suggest anything in English? Simply, does legend collocate with suggest?

e.g.: The very legend suggests that Samu be sent to an ancient town by himself.

Thanks.

Yes, a "legend can suggest" for example; "The legend suggests that King Arthur was buried at Glastonbury Tor."
With your sentence though it doesn't work very well as it is, perhaps;

"The very legend suggests that Samu was/had been sent to an ancient town alone."

I don't have any problems with 'suggest', but the meaning of 'legend' here is not clear. What kind of legend is it? Is it a legend for a spy? if so then according to this legend Samu is going to be sent to an ancient town.

By legend, I mean an old story.

OK, then like bhaisahab said it should be 'was sent', and 'the legend suggests' means 'according to the legend'.
