We describe how our involvement with this work began and the mistakes and pitfalls that we encountered in a way that will provide a great service to those who may wish to study orbs themselves, while offering tantalizing suggestions and insights on what the implications of the orb phenomenon may be for our understanding of reality.
Do "suggestions" mean "suppositions", "assumptions"? Do "insights" mean understanding/thoughts based on intuition? And do "implications" mean "consequences" in this case?

insights - a clear understanding of something, especially a complicated situation or idea
implications - possible future effects
