Well, "unattributable" means that it is unknown where it came from. I'm not sure about the rest. (Maybe TDOL will come along and offer a comment.)

Maybe it means ..... we were very lucky to get this information, but we either don't know who gave it to us or we don't want to tell you who gave it to us.

Privileged information is information that cannot be questioned in a court (like parliamentary debate) or that is only available to certain peopele. Unattributable either means we don't know who said it, or aren't allowed to say.

Well, you got the second part right, but if you were "very lucky" then "privileged" would apply to you and not the information. (TDOL came up with the definition for that that I couldn't think of.)

BTW, with my rather off-handed reference to TDOL I did not intend any offence to anyone who does not happen to be TDOL. :wink:

Actually, I was trying to make up for giving the impression (unintentionally) that I thought only TDOL could answer a question I couldn't.

(Ron to self: Something tells me that my explanation is supefluous and that TDOL is only kidding anyhow. :) )
