| Hi Jandi, Welcome to. . . wherever we are this time. . . . Both sets of sentences are OK, but (2) is preferably because girls still grow up faster and are more intelligent (. . . on average, of course). It is a condition which is still valid at the present. (In a paper, using the present tense also makes the findings more 'immediate' for the reader.) |
