contrast Would you please tell me if there is any difference between them: in contrast and by contrast?

Re: contrast Not really.
In contrast has 2233 hits on the British National Corpus and 8580 on the American National Corpus, by contrast has 1433 and 4423 , so both are used, the first more than the second.
