here is the words I found from the song Broken Arrow by Rod Stewart

''Can you cut behind the mystery''. What does it mean?

"Can you explain yourself?"
"Can you reveal yourself more fully?"
"Can you reveal what is behind the facade?"
"Can you make things clear to me?"

(Say: "Here are the words....")

He is, perhaps, asking her to commit herself (to a relationship). Or maybe he is asking her to express her feelings.
